What to ..." So I ask, "What to do, Booru? What to do?" For now the only answer I arrive at is, “Do not post.” "

Couldn't artists avoid the losses associated with public distribution if they shifted to commissions instead of site memberships?

Public distro allays that cost of managing your own site since the image hosting sites manage the uploading costs to viewers. Initially, fans do not pay because they're looking at everything, enjoying it all.

But inevitably: people have imaginations they want to see realized, and characters they want to see more (or any) art of, in various poses, pairings, etc.

So I think perhaps commissions could be a viable means? I dunno. If the rate was too high for an individual they could post their desire and open a 'pool' or something others could donate to until it was enough to warrant the artist doing it.Tyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12305974455384425337noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3641308355340063958.post-74038331385169989892012-01-03T21:35:00.187-08:002012-01-03T21:35:00.187-08:00As a moderator of both Danbooru and Gelbooru I hav...As a moderator of both Danbooru and Gelbooru I have to say that I really appreciate how you didn't make us out as internet boogiemen, an unfortunately common reaction. Hopefully everyone else on either side of this can be just as reasonable.

By the by some of the things you said painted us as porn sites, a stigma neither site cares for (and yes I realize the irony in saying that on a porn site). So just to make it clear both Gelbooru and Danbooru are sites that try to aggregate high quality artwork that's either Japanese in theme or origin, and we happen to allow porn.

Also I don't see why you wouldn't trust "the average Danbooru power poster" with your daughter's virginity. I mean it's not like you can convert such an abstract concept to an image so that they could post it on Danbooru.ShadowbladeEdgenoreply@blogger.com
